My Logical Approach:
Identifying Systemic Errors in the Horse Human System
A Logical Mind in a Chaotic Industry
I spent more than 30 years in accountancy, specialising in identifying inconsistencies, resolving complex system errors, and restoring logic to processes that had stopped making sense.
That training in pattern recognition and root-cause analysis now underpins my work as a horse–human communication coach.
When something doesn’t add up, I look for the reason — and horses always have one.
In the wider equestrian industry, I saw people labelling confusion as “disobedience,” stress as “being good,” and fear as “respect.” My background made those contradictions impossible to overlook. Horses are consistent creatures. When behaviour doesn’t match the situation, there is always an explanation.

What Horses Taught Me
Working with Dolly changed the way I understand horses completely. She showed me, very clearly, how horses react when signals are unclear, how they shut down when they know resisting won’t change anything, and how quickly they respond when communication becomes predictable and fair.
I learned to listen differently.
I learned to think differently.
And I realised that most “behaviour problems” are actually communication problems.

The Human System Matters
I am a CMA Certified Life Coach, and that training gave me a structure for the human side of the horse–human relationship. My coaching isn’t therapy; it’s practical, behavioural, and grounded in observation.
I help owners understand how their body language, timing, expectations, and consistency shape their horse’s sense of safety.
I coach people to:
-
reduce unnecessary pressure
-
communicate in a way horses can actually follow
-
recognise what the horse is responding to
-
stay consistent enough to build trust
-
create psychological safety rather than obedience
When the human becomes predictable, the horse finally gets room to breathe. That’s where genuine partnership starts.

My Values
-
Connection over control
-
Clarity over pressure
-
Logic over force
-
Partnership over dominance
-
Transparency over tradition
I don’t sugar-coat.
I don’t translate horse behaviour into myths.
I tell you what your horse is showing you and what that means.

Why I Do This Work
Horses gave me back my clarity and confidence. They’ve helped countless people around me by showing them the truth of their situations — without drama, without judgement, and without pretence.
My work is about helping you understand your horse with the same clarity:
-
no jargon
-
no mysticism
-
no outdated dominance-based narratives
-
just logic, observation, and genuine connection
If something in your horse’s behaviour doesn’t make sense, I help you find the reason — and change the system so the horse can succeed.
